This print depicts one of the most famous scenes from the well-known 1999 American feature film American Beauty. The 'Rose Petal' scene shows the character Angela Hayes (Mena Suvari) in one of Lester Burnham's (Kevin Spacey) dreams. The symbolic use of roses and rose petals in the film - and, more broadly, the colour red - can be interpreted comprehensively, from suppressed emotions to sexual desire.
