The artwork dates from circa 1776 - 1777 and was created by the artist Robert Jacob Gordon. Gordon was a Dutch explorer, soldier, artist, and natural scientist. The artist made hundreds of drawings of landscapes, animals, peoples, and individuals during his travels.
