Ridley Scott's film Gladiator is praised as one of the most epic films of all time. The film emphasizes the glory of Rome at its peak. The cinematography, the cast, and the action scenes were Oscar-worthy as the film won Best Picture in 2000. The story is set in Roman times and is inspired by Emperor Commodus and his father Marcus Aurelius.
