A good preparation…

Saves half the work! Once you've got all your supplies ready, work through this list to be completely ready to hang your new wallpaper on the wall.

check; Before you start, the wall on which you will stick the wallpaper must be clean, dry and smooth. You can use non-woven wallpaper to mask small imperfections, but gaps or breaks must be filled first. (If your wall is painted in contrasting colors, it may be worth using a light foundation to mask the color.)

  • Cut the wallpaper along the indicated cutting line with the box cutter.
  • Fold the strips in the correct order, then check for any mistakes and that the edges are even. If you notice any problems, please contact us right away.
  • Prepare your wallpaper glue if necessary.
  • Make sure that the room in which you are going to wallpaper has a constant, not too warm room temperature (18-21℃), so that the glue does not dry too quickly.

Just wallpaper!

Now it's time to really get to work. Good luck!

  • Use a spirit level and ruler to mark a vertical line every 50cm where you will place the wallpaper strips.
  • Then apply the glue to the surface (this can be slightly wider than the width of the wallpaper) with the glue brush, spread over a thin layer. Make sure the layer is even and not too thick.
  • Then apply your first wallpaper strip. You have to stick this as straight as possible. For a smooth result, you can iron the wallpaper with a dry brush or cloth, but always iron from the center towards the edge. You apply the next wallpaper strip tightly to the first strip, and so on.
  • When everything is hung up and smoothed out, you can cut away the unnecessary wallpaper with a utility knife. TIP: A dull knife can tear the wallpaper, so make sure your box cutter is sharp!

Made mistakes? No worries. You can always remove and re-stick the wallpaper, but do this before the glue has dried. Glue stains are easy to clean with a slightly damp cloth or sponge.

After wallpapering;

All that work pays off, your new wallpaper is done! Furthermore, some small tips to make sure that it dries nicely and that you can enjoy it for a long time.

  1. After wallpapering, check whether you have hung everything straight, this is best done from 1-2 meters away. If your glue hasn't dried yet, you can still make changes and make sure it hangs straight.
  2. It is possible that a number of small air bubbles can still form with freshly hung wallpaper. These should disappear after 1-3 days.
  3. Try to keep the temperature of the room above 10 degrees Celsius, and a constant supply of air. So open the window!
  4. Impatient? Do not help the drying process yourself by using, for example, fans or heating, this must be done naturally.
